Preparing for a webinar, whether it is your first ever webinar or a webinar you are creating to introduce a new product, can be a daunting task. You need to ensure that you are able to communicate your ideas clearly and effectively, otherwise your message will get lost, and so will the interest of your audience.
So what are you going to say? Luckily there are formats and structures you can copy from other successful webinars to make sure your webinar achieves your business’s goals.
The Structure of a Successful Webinar
Introduction and engagement
Before you get right into your webinar, address your audience and encourage them to type a greeting or let you know where they are from in the chat box. This immediately fosters some engagement between you and your audience.
Build Credibility
Your audience most likely doesn’t know you from a bar of soap. Introduce yourself and don’t be shy to establish your credentials. Your audience should know why you are the best person to present this information and why they should listen to you.
Tell a story
After your introduction, lead them into a story that outlines why what you are telling them is so important.
Value and Expertise
Use the time in the webinar to give your audience valuable but incomplete information. Make it clear that there is more to your product or service. The information that you have already given them will prompt them to want to go deeper.
The Pitch
After you have whet your audience’s appetite, you can use this opportunity to sell your product or service. This is an optional step to your webinar but if you have hit a home run with your webinar content, this part should be pretty easy.
Q&A Session
This is one of the most important parts of your webinar that should not be missed or overlooked. The Q&A session gives you the chance to answer any questions that may come up, or clarify information from the webinar content itself.
Using the Ask Method, you could set up a “Deep Dive Survey” by asking someone to explain what their biggest challenge or problem is with regards to the field your market or service is in. For example, if you are in the fitness industry a good question would be: “What is your greatest challenge when trying to lose weight?” Placing this question after the Thank You page that appears when someone registers for the webinar will give you an indication of what questions need to be addressed during the webinar.
